As a narrative lead to my Nurgle as Seraphon project Unity was always destined to be the centrepiece. In my minds eye the Bloodbowl Nurgle slug hero and the Slaan chair were meant for each other, and so far I'm confident I was right
I've recently been working away on some 40k stuff to try and gain some energy for the upcoming 10th edition release box, its a game I once had alot of love for so I was hoping to find the spark of that love and creativity again. However new AOS ideas are always freely flowing and one that I had to seize upon is the concept of a giant nurgle slug on a Slaans throne.
With this in mind the Knights of Unity began to form in my mind, a force of nurgle not bulbous and swollen like blight kings and lords but built around the Rotmire Creed aesthetic. Bound together by a swarm of flies emitted by their benevolent "Mother", these flies lay their larvae beneath the skin of a host and allow them to take root in the hosts brain. It is here the larvae grow to maturity as the feed, the swarm lending a hive mind of sorts to the hosts during their adolescence that draws hosts to common causes.
Through the swarm unity can be achieved, true peace.
Below is the first of the concept mock ups for the models, a Knight of Unity.
Warcry: Rotmire Creed
Necromunda: Ash Wastes Nomads Helamite
The Rotmire Creed model is carefully cut at the waist using a Razorsaw and then mounted onto the legs of the Ash wastes Nomad rider. A simple yet effective conversion to give unique looking cavalrty
Kharadron Overlords Aetherrig
There are few things the Duardin of the Mortal Realms need more than a home, so long displaced from their Karaks forged of Stone and Mountain some fled to the skies, others to the firey depths. The Valayans however seek out the Goddess of Home and Hearth, their namesake Valaya herself that their homes might be made anew. Such journeys take them deep into the icy wastes of the Aqshy outlands, where they shape ice as their ancestors once shaped stone.
